Ashurst Wood v Ashington Cougars
With Cougars top of the table and a 9 match winning run to protect they faced their nemesis from last season - Ashurst Wood Wanderers in a double-header, a potential banana skin in their bid for the title!
Cougars started well and William Farnes opened the scoring when forcing the Wanderers defence into a mistake. Within the first twenty minutes William had scored his and the teams second goal and Thomas Cordingley had increased the score to 3 - 0 with a powerful left foot shot which nestled neatly into the bottom corner of the goal.
Cougars seemed to take their foot off the pedal for the last twenty minutes and didn't threaten the Wanderers goal again, however they defended well with Oliver Rencontre using his pace to null any threats on the Cougars goal. The game ended 3 - 0 to Cougars
